How I Can Help

Our bodies have the natural ability to heal and thrive. Over time, we tax our systems with processed foods, toxins, and stress, causing inflammation and disease. Through positive adjustments, it's possible to reclaim our innate vitality.

ABOUT KERSTIN

Hello! My health and wellness journey began in earnest about a decade ago when I began to make small, healthier choices in my life. I started eating better and going to workout classes on a regular basis. On a whim, I tried out a three-week plant-based reset. That was tricky for me because I didn’t really like to cook, and everything was made from scratch- yikes! But I gained confidence along the way and I loved the way I felt - leaner, stronger, more alive. Those changes inspired me to enroll in a health coach training program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. It was there I learned that true health and wellness are affected not just by food, but by all aspects of a person’s life. I then started coaching, and subsequently passed the exam to become a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).

I know from experience how challenging it is to face health issues and to look for a clear path forward. I lost my dad when he was only 63, after a decades long struggle with heart disease. Later I lost my mom, also in her 60’s, from two bouts of cancer. The chemo from her original lymphoma caused a second cancer in her blood. In my own life, in my mid-twenties, I developed an unidentified, and incredibly painful condition in my joints, which made even the weight of a bedsheet hurt. The episode lasted for 6 months. The suffering felt hopeless. In retrospect, I now see that my mystery condition was the result of untreated stress from my job. What I didn't know at the time was how all aspects of my life impacted my health, and that I had the power to turn things around. The more well-rounded, positive, and healthy a person's lifestyle is, the better their outcomes and their all-round happiness. All of these challenges helped me realize that I wanted to be able to help others and myself.

A few more personal details… I worked in retail and customer relations for 30+ years.  I have been married to my amazing husband for over 30 years and am the mother of two fabulous young adults. Our oldest has severe special needs, so I am also his caregiver. We have 2 wild and crazy Australian Shepherds. I enjoy living near the city, but I also am drawn to the mountains and to being in nature. I love hanging with family, traveling, being active, and eating fresh & healthy food. I plan on living a long, happy, vibrant life to the age of 127! (I like prime numbers, too.)
